Manufacturer: Eli Lilly
Pharmaceutical name: Tadalafil
Pack: 1 pack (4 tabs (20 mg))
Cialis (Tadalafil) works by relaxing muscles and enhancing blood circulation to specific areas of the body. It is prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men.
Avoid taking Cialis if you are allergic to Tadalafil, or if you are simultaneously using any nitrate medications for chest pain or heart issues, such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and isosorbide mononitrate, or recreational substances like amyl nitrate or nitrite ("poppers"). Combining Cialis with a nitrate medication may lead to a sudden and severe drop in blood pressure.
If you experience dizziness or nausea during sexual activity, or if you feel pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, discontinue use and contact your doctor immediately. You might be experiencing a serious side effect related to this medication.
Do not take Cialis more than once every 24 hours. Make sure to wait 24 hours between doses. If you experience a painful erection or one that lasts longer than 4 hours, reach out to your doctor or seek emergency medical care. A prolonged erection (priapism) can result in permanent damage to the penis. Cialis may also reduce blood flow to the optic nerve, potentially causing sudden vision loss. This has been reported in a small fraction of individuals taking Cialis, many of whom had pre-existing conditions like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or certain eye issues, and those who smoke or are over the age of 50. It remains unclear if Cialis directly causes vision loss.
If you have any of these additional conditions, you might require a dosage adjustment or specific tests for Cialis: heart disease or irregular heartbeats; a heart attack within the last 90 days; a stroke or congestive heart failure history in the last 6 months; chest pain (angina); high or low blood pressure; liver issues; kidney problems (or if undergoing dialysis); blood disorders such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia; bleeding disorders like hemophilia; stomach ulcers; retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited eye condition); a physical abnormality of the penis (like Peyronie's disease); or if advised against sexual activity for health reasons.
